The Garden of My Mind - Gallery 2

This is a group show. These artworks are drawn from my home landscape of Mpumalanga, South Africa. I often stop to observe and examine plants and animals I see on the side of the road. Looking is an act of paying tribute, a way of protecting, understanding and caring for parts of our environment that are often taken for granted. The lino-cut prints were made iteratively and informed each other as part of a series exploring roadkill and illusive animals. The paintings explore the beauty of Mpumalanga - its grand trees and tiny finches.
